Of workshop dates & illness.

A while back I promised our new workshop dates would be released in time for Mother’s Day.

Unfortunately the universe has had other plans for me and instead of spending last weekend or even this weekend finalising details with our venues and releasing the new dates I’ve had the stuffing knocked out of me by a chest infection.

Will there be new dates for winter wreath, garden bouquet, garden vase and rose care workshops?? Yes, absolutely just in a week or two when I’m up to it.

📚 A few weeks ago I treated myself to this lovely book #ashorthistoryofflowers It’s been the perfect book to keep me company this week. Each page is an engaging short historical story of how some of our garden favourites arrived in our gardens, I’ve loved reading it 🌸

Our roses will be back in season Oct 2024, this coming season is shaping up to be a beauty, with twice as many roses and new varieties coming into production. All fragrant and sustainably grown without chemicals.

Skill sharing with friends part 3.

Yesterday Toby and I had the privilege of learning to hand carve our own wooden spoons. Under the guidance of @charton.and.bang we selected our timber, designed, cut, carved, sanded and oiled our way to a beautiful functional spoon (or chop sticks!)

Toby’s are 2nd and 3rd (to be completed at home) from left and mine is 2nd from right. I now have a much greater appreciation of the time, skill and creative eye it takes to make a spoon!

Timbers used were Australian natives, River Cooba (Acacia stenophylla) and White Cypress Pine (Callitris glaucophylla)

Thankyou for the amazing day, so lovely to spend it with old and new friends sharing common interests and so many delicious lunch dishes 🥗🥄
